Because everyone else is doing it

The Wolves got lucky

After last season’s stank tank, the Wolves got lucky in the lottery for the first time in their history. With the first pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Karl Towns of the University of Kentucky (Adam Silver voice).

The Wolves got their man. They gave the people what they want. The celebration is on. Enjoy the moment.

(Eds. Note: Some enterprising Wolves writers pre-wrote stories – some of which were more gif-tastic than others – on the Towns pick. Go forth and read.)

After the dust settles, we’ll be back with a full postmortem of tonight’s events.

Until then, here’s some vintage Karl-Anthony Towns to groove to.

Bjelica, would be the final piece of the puzzle. C: Dieng/Towns PF: Bennett/Payne/Bjelica SF: Wiggins/Bazz/Budinger SG: Martin/LaVine/Budinger, PG Rubio/Brown/Jones KG and PEK – (feeling lucky if we get anything from either of them – KG with Limited minutes PEK hobbled with his feet/ankle problems. If we are not successful signing Bjelica, Hummel retains his position, with PF being a race between Bennett and Payne. Should PEK surprise and play 25 minutes 80 games, Dieng is free to play major minutes at PF (or Towns) either likely better options than Payne – although Bennett could surprise and play well in this lineup. Can’t wait for Vegas – summer league will be interesting for fans this year.
